3 Days Mount Ouanoukrim (4083m & Toubkal Peak (4167m)

The High Atlas Mountains. As if that much weren't already clear. The High Atlases are the most easily reached section of the mountain range, and, capped off by the peak of Toubkal, arguably the most visually brilliant.

Experience Toubkal ascent in 3 days and climb the highest peak in north Africa with local Toubkal guide. You will need to arrive in Marrakech (direct flights) & stay overnight in a Hostel or Hotel (we can arrange airport transfers & local Hotel accomodation on your behalf).

Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil(1740m) - Toubkal Refuge (3200m): 
Transfer to Imlil the starting level of the hike, we commence the trek up to Sidi Chamharouch Shrine, which attracts tourists and pilgrims where we will break for luncheon. After we continue to Toubkal refuge, Overnight in the refuge or camping, 6 hours walking.

Day 2: Toubkal Refuge(3200m) - Toubkal summit (4167m) - Toubkal Refuge(3200m):
Early departure after breakfast for the ascent of Toubkal, On the top we will enjoy beautiful views of the Atlas mountains, the peaks of the Anti-Atlas and its highest point, the Siroua (3304m) and the Haouez plains. After descending Back to the Refuge, overnight in the refuge, 6 hours walking. 

Day 3: Toubkal Refuge(3200m) - Ouanoukrim summit (4083m) - Imlil (1740m) - Marrakech: 
Early departure after breakfast as we did second day. We climb to Ouanoukrim summit, second highest Summit in Morocco. After we descend Back to the Refuge and to Imlil Village, passing by the Sidi Chamharouch shrine, transfer back to Marrakech, 8 to 9 hours walking, overnight in hotel in Marrakech.

Equipment to bring for your Moroccan trekking adventure:
  • Bottled water (can be readily purchased in Imlil and at refuges along the trails);
  • Medication for an upset stomach;
  • Sturdy walking boots;
  • Warm clothing;
  • Sun cream/block, sunglasses and sun hat;
  • Walking pole(s);
  • Beanie and gloves (especially early and late season and especially for climbing up Toubkal in very early morning);
  • Anorak/waterproof jacket and trousers;
  • Toilet paper;
  • Sleeping bag inner – we recommend sleeping inside an inner as it is more hygienic;
  • Pillow case – we recommend carrying a pillow case as it is more hygienic;
  • sleeping bag – If staying in Berber villages we recommend bringing your own sleeping bag;
  • sleeping mat – depending on your choice of overnight accommodation;
  • Tent – depending on where you choose for overnight stops;
  • Camera – you don’t want to forget such an incredible experience!
